Hello, welcome to the Hall Royd Band, a community brass band from Shipley (near Bradford, West Yorkshire, UK), with a strong history of  over 80 years.

The band was  originally  associated with the Northcliffe Church, from where playing commenced all those years ago.  The band welcomes players from all walks of life and beliefs. All are welcome.

As of July 2026 we will be based in Cottingley Town Hall If you are interested in joining as a player, whether as an accomplished musician in the main band 7:30-9:30pm on Fridays, or as a learner joining the Monday group 7:00-8:00pm, we would be delighted to hear from you, or feel free to simply turn up at on one of these rehearsal nights.

You can email us first to make sure we haven't got an engagement that night.  We endeavour to supply a band instrument and free tuition if requested - so you’ve got nothing to lose by giving us a try!!!
